Job Description

Due to our increasing workload, we are looking for a Senior or Principal Project Manager to join our national Energy team. You will have the opportunity to lead projects in our Energy group which include substations, transmission lines, and renewable energy projects in New Zealand and further afield. This is a critical role in our group, you will be central to our success, and operate across AECOM offices and business lines.

We have a very established, long-standing team who are passionate about what they do and this is a great opportunity to be part of our well-knit, collaborative team and continue to drive technical excellence that we have become known for by our clients.

What will a day in this role look like:

  • Delivering multi-disciplinary projects on-time and within budget, from feasibility design through to construction, whilst meeting and exceeding client expectations.

  • Managing the technical quality review and approvals process.

  • Developing proposals and project plans. Undertaking contract reviews and identifying and managing project risk and mitigations.

  • Building internal and external client relationships and maintaining our position as a trusted advisor.

Qualifications

What are we looking for from you?

The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Please apply, all applications will be considered.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or industry recognised project management qualifications preferred.

  • At least 8 years proven project management experience.

  • Energy sector experience is a strong advantage, particularly transmission and distribution.

  • New Zealand market knowledge and experience.

  • Construction management and/or EPC contract experience is an advantage.
