Job Summary

The Role

We are a vibrant, dedicated team of Transmission & Distribution (T&D) professionals who provide advice and expertise to our high-profile clients throughout NZ, Australia and Asia. Our renowned team of experts also support our global power teams.

As a Principal Transmission Lines Engineer in our T&D team, you will be involved in leading the modelling, design of structures and foundations for Transmission Lines projects.

Each day you will be challenged with a different problem to solve and there will be endless opportunities for you to advance your career in the T&D sector.

Whilst the role is based in our modern CBD offices, there will be some travel required and assignments offshore.

Some of the day to day tasks will include:

  • Concept and Detailed Design of Transmission Lines using PLS-CADD software

  • Modelling of structures using PLS-TOWER, PLS-POLE

  • Foundation designs – varying from normal concrete foundations to pile foundations

  • Site visits and inspections as required

  • Drafting design reports

  • Assisting with the preparation of proposals

  • Interfacing / developing relationships with clients to secure new opportunities

  • Mentoring and supporting junior members of the team

Minimum Requirements

About You

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • Minimum of 10 years transmission lines industry experience

  • Proficient in PLS software packages

  • In depth knowledge of transmission line design up to 330kV and higher voltage levels

  • Excellent organisation and communication skills

  • Self-motivated and a team player

  • Site experience / experience in projects being constructed

Preferred Qualifications

  • University degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering
