Job Summary

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance Operations Manager to join our Civil Infrastructure team based in Sydney. You will provide support to the Civil Infrastructure Group Director, Operations Manager, Project Approvers/Team leaders and Project Managers and various projects across our NSW & ACT portfolio. This support includes the monitoring and reporting on business financial targets and KPIs.

Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Support the Group Director and Operations Manager to maximise sustainable growth, business performance & profits through effective monitoring and control.

  • Work closely in coordination with the Group Operations Manager to keep them informed of the status of projects within the group, highlight concerns and develop solutions for any issues which may arise.

  • Monitoring and reporting on the overall financial position of the group, creating financial reports for the Operations manager & group director monthly and additionally as required and conduct monthly briefing sessions for team leaders regarding performance against key business metrics

  • Work closely with team leaders regarding current performance, including a strong focus on their attainment of profit targets, revenue growth and cost management so that they can invest in continuous improvement.

  • Work with Project Mangers to assist with development and coordination of project procedures to ensure the efficient cost control of projects, including the recording, controlling forecasting and reporting of all financial matters.

  • Overseeing Invoicing on the group’s projects, working with the Project Finance Representatives, Project Managers, DPMs and Project controls team to drive best practice across the group in regard to billing and collections to achieve the group’s DSO targets.

  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic and the ability to use initiative – eager to learn and take on new tasks.

  • Experience in implementing existing and new procedures

Qualifications Required:

  • Operational Finance background

  • High level of financial/numeracy proficiency and understanding.

  • Fluent in the use of the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the engineering consulting environment.

  • A good understanding of the principles of project management
