Principal Civil Engineer/Associate Director – Utilities & CSR Team Leader

Job Summary

AECOM is a Global Engineering Design Consultancy with offices in more than 150 countries around the globe. We have an exceptionally strong presence and reputation within the Civil Infrastructure space and are now looking to add an experienced Utilities Engineer to the team in Sydney.

Ideally coming in as a Principal Engineer level this individual will have the opportunity to grow and develop an already existing Utilities Team.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Hands on Detailed Design of Greenfield and Brownfield Utilities & CSR across mainly Infrastructure Projects – Road, Rail, Aviation and Urban Development

  • Client Interaction – There will be a focus on face to face interactions with clients (both government and private) to deliver on existing projects and to bring invitations to tender on future works.

  • Management and mentoring of team – This role will be the most senior member of the team and will take on some management responsibilities in collaboration with the Civil Infrastructure Leader.

  • Growth and Recruitment – there are significant growth plans in mind and the successful candidate for this role will be instrumental in the recruitment of employees within the Utilities Team.

Minimum Requirements

AECOM are seeking a Principal Engineer with extensive utilities experience. This could also be the opportunity for an Associate Engineer who sees themselves as ready to take a step up into a Team Leader position.

The suitable candidate for this role will have the following profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or similar

  • 10+ years of general civil engineering experience with a particular focus on utilities on infrastructure projects

  • Strong relationships with potential new clients and a drive to win work

  • Experience managing and integrating multi-discipline teams

  • Strong knowledge of Sydney design standards and approval processes

  • Passionate about training and mentorships of junior team members
