Our Civil Infrastructure Business is looking for a highly experienced associate director of major projects to be the driving force behind major pursuits and projects, and expanding the capability of our Transport highways business across NWA/ANZ. This role will see you working closely with the highways Team Leader and Group Director.
Utilising your strong local network, commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills, you will be responsible for actively seeking new and innovative business development opportunities across the region, and coordinating AECOM’s approach to successfully delivering these projects in accordance with AECOM’s values and behaviours.
Lead the development and implementation of client growth strategies.
Identify project opportunities early and drive positioning of AECOM to win.
Lead key major project tenders.
Drive client engagement activities and feedback.
Take on the role as project director / project manager as required.
Responsible for successful delivery of major transportation infrastructure projects including:
Lead client contract negotiations and ensure fulfilment of contract obligations.
Responsible for the accurate scoping out of tasks and projects.
Negotiation of variations, claims and commercial disputes.
Ensures tasks are completed in a timely manner, objectives met and takes accountability for results.
Monitors and tracks task progress against evolving requirements and deadlines.
Sets and clearly communicates goals and targets for self, team and stakeholders.
Takes personal accountability for own and project team actions and decisions.
Is pro-active in managing priorities for clients and internal stakeholders.
Detects and addresses problems and obstacles early.
Responsible for budgetary control of complex projects, forecasting project expenditure and programme performance.
Manage subcontractors and suppliers on the project where appropriate and ensure the relevant form of subcontract is used and complied with.
Be the point of escalation management
Mentor and train members of the highways team.
Extensive expertise in stakeholder consultation and management
Proven track record with large client program management, pursuit execution
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
Minimum of fifteen (15) years’ experience in a similar position building upon local client relationships
Chartered Engineer/qualified for, or equivalent of a recognised professional engineering body
